The Rusty Spur Saloon Old Town Scottsdale AZ Aug 09

This was one of the highlights of my trip to the Old Town of Scottsdale AZ on my trip in Aug 2009. The oldest real western Saloon for cowboys now for tourists. "Rusty Spur Saloon" which was originally a bank then turned saloon. You can still see the door of the old safe that they now use as a storage area for drinks and stuff. There is live country music through out most of the day and its a favorite hang out place for some of its regular customers but mostly its seeked out by tourist. If you open any tourist magazine or brochure most likely you will find an ad for the place. I Think its a must see if your visiting the area. I enjoyed my lunch there very much, I even signed my dollar and hung it on the wall. You will find many signed dollars from people who have come to have a meal or a drink from all over the world, they too have their dollar hung there. The saloon donates these dollars once a year to a chosen different charity each year.
Yehhaaa!!!!
Write to you soon.

About me

Hi my name is Lilliy K. ( aka Fun Lilliy as known to some other bloggers or on the web social media community)
I lived in several places in my life, and at the moment I am living in the Middle East at a city called Jeddah. I have a restless soul that doesn't seem to have found the place to call home yet. I am still searching where I will finally place my suitcase for a long time in the mean time I feed my restlessness with my love for traveling with the excitement of experiencing a new place. I believe it enriches the persons life and broadens their prospective regarding different cultures. Every trip adds to who I am in some way. I have been lucky to been able to see many cities and countries and would love to share all that with others that have the same passion.

Every traveler has something useful to share because when your traveling to a new place you have so many questions that come to mind and that’s when travel blogs come in handy. I spend myself a lot of time looking up blogs dedicated for travel and travel information. I am always searching information regarding certain destinations and peoples experiences in traveling the world in general. I usually want to get right to it! get the info, see the photos, and videos then get to the next travel site. That’s how the idea of a travel blog began to come together in my mind. I want to contribute my two cents in it and maybe by doing so some one might benefit from some parts of it like I did from so many blogs. In this blog I will post my travel journey from when the idea came to birth till the moment I unpack my suit case when I come back home. Times when there are no words there will be photos and videos to talk for them selves.

Along with my journeys I am trying to learn The Turkish Language. The reason behind choosing to do that is in this post. My sharing nature lead me to Turkish Phrase of The Day which in my previous blog was welcomed by some readers and that encouraged me to continue those posts in this site.

I enjoy great conversations and be more than happy to answer questions when I can regarding a place I visited. I will be looking forward to your comments and your own experiences as well. I always love to hear a good travel story..

Twitter Update Back From The Road… Day 8 Aug 10 09 Sedona & The Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon Aug 2009

- Well it has been a while that I have been away from my sites, and also from twitter. I had a lot of work on my hand to take care of away from web8:55 PM Oct 16th from web

- Especially over the past month it was very busy. I just came back from Berlin. I had a conference there it was a very busy 6 days. I’m home again.

- But took as usual loads a photos and learnt a lot about the city which hopefully I will be sharing on my site and here soon #Berlin #Germany

- I have to say that the history of the city #Berlin is full of wounds and scars.

- But getting back to my travel story telling. I think I’m going to pick up where I had left off which is the last couple of days of my trip to AZ

- I am at my twitter update on Day 8 of my trip to #Arizona which was the day I got to see for the first time The Grand Canyon. Magnificent!

- Well it was an early start that day I had to be ready at 6:30 AM for pick up by the bus tour guide operated by www.OpenRoadTours.com

- I didn’t book directly through them though. I did it through @ViatorTravel which is a company I trust their tour choice whenever I’m booking tours.

- It was an early start for a long day ahead. It was a whole day tour. Lots of stops which was great that our tour guide had lots of information.

- Luckily the lovely lady working at @ChaparralSuites serving breakfast made me an egg burrito to go when she saw me with my backpack. I was all ready to go.

- That gave me a good head start especially with the coffee and the loads of water that was provided by the tour for the long hot day ahead.
